NBA Basketball !

Today we had a bit of a sleep in after a big day at Disneyland yesterday. After checking out of our hotel we went to the Local outlet Centre. The girls had a great time here, and after some lunch we all enjoyed a show and tell of everyone's shopping.

We then checked into our last hotel of the tour before having our last Kangaroo Court session and heading to the basketball.

The Clippers basketball game was amazing. It was so much fun to watch the Clippers beat the Grizzlies.

There is lots of talk about Harry Potter at Universal Studios tomorrow, we are all very excited.

Hockey in Los Angeles

Today we played our last game of hockey for the tour in LA. we had blue skies and great weather.
It was a great game, the girls have had an amazing few weeks of hockey and have improved as individuals and as a team. We showed this today with a great team goal. Unfortunately our hosts came away with the 4-2 win, but it was a very close, competitive game.

After the game we checked out of our hotel and made our way to downtown Disney via the Griffith observatory where you get a fantastic view of the Hollywood sign and all of LA

When we arrived at our hotel in downtown Disney we quickly checked into our hotel so we could make the most of our time.
We had some time exploring downtown Disney before having dinner together at Bubba Gump....a theme restaurant based on the Forest Gump movie.

Everyone is very excited to go to Disneyland tomorrow.

Day 9 7/4

Today we said goodbye to our last hosts of the tour before making our way to Lynn Canyon. We walked over the suspension bridge and made our way to the rock pools taking lots of beautiful photos on the way.

We then went to Lonsdale quay to the international food hall at the markets for lunch.

On our way to South Delta, where we played our game, we visited the Spanish banks near UBC.

The girls had mixed emotions at the game, they are very excited to go to LA, but sad their time in Canada is coming to an end.

This game was by far the closest we have had yet. They worked really hard all the way until the final whistle. In the end our opposition came away with the win 3-2.

After the game we hopped back on the bus, had a quick dinner and checked into our hotel.

Everyone is very excited to go to LA tomorrow morning.

We then walked down the waterfront to get some lunch. Before going to our hockey game we took some photos on the waterfront.

When we arrived at the hocke ground we had a kangaroo court, it was great hearing all the stories from the last few days.

The sun came out just in time for our game. The girls did really well against a tough opposition. Each game the girls are getting better and better and it is great to see improvement in all of the girls. The final score was 5-0 to our hosts.

The girls have all gone home with their final hosts for the trip, and are very excited.

We had a bit of a sleep in this morning after our late night at the Ice hockey.

We had a yummy breakfast at a cafe before going for a walk in the city.

After lunch in the city we headed to the hockey field for our next game.

The opposition were much tougher than any of the other teams we have played so far. Our girls played really well, and are starting to look like a team that has been together for ages.

Our new hosts scored 3 goals in the first half, but in the second half our girls really stepped up and won the second half 1-0.

The final result was 3-1 to our hosts which the girls were really proud of.

They were all excited to spend the night with their hosts.

Today we played our first game against our hosts from last night.

The girls arrived at the University of British Columbia pitch with their hosts this morning with plenty of great stories to share from their first hosting experience.

The game was a great match between the two sides. Wanderers scored the first goal, followed shortly by our opposition scoring one, finishing the game 1-1. The girls did a fantastic job coming together as a team in such a short amount of time.

After the game our hosts put on lunch for us, it was great to be able to spend some extra time with our hosts after the game.

We then made a quick stop at the UBC bookshop to look around before heading into Granville Island markets. The girls had some free time to look around before getting back on the bus to meet their next hosts.

After training we walked to a nearby shopping center and some lunch and free time before making our way to a park for our first Kangaroo Court sitting, where we all had lots of laughs.

Tonight the girls have all gone home with their first hosts.

They are all very excited and we are looking forward to hearing all their stories tomorrow morning when we meet them for our game.

Day 2 31/3

Today we went skiing and snowboarding.

We started the day catching a bus up to Grouse Mountain.

We spent some time taking in the amazing views before hopping on the cable car to go to the top. From the cable car we had a fantastic  view of Vancouver.

When we got to the top everyone was very excited to see so much snow. We took some pictures, made a snowman and of course threw some snowballs, before getting our gear.

Once we were all kitted out we began our lessons. We had some fabulous instructors who made the morning lots of fun.

We caught up with each other after our lessons before hitting the slopes again.

We were very lucky to have such great weather with the sun shining all day on the mountain.

After spending all day at Grouse Mountain we to downtown get some dinner before another early night to rest our legs for hockey in the morning. The girls are all looking forward to meeting their first hosts tomorrow.
