We’ve had a couple of days without cricket, one spent on a catamaran tour, swimming with turtles and seeing the West Coast of Barbados and the other visiting Speightstown after our game was washed out. Yesterday we got back to business against St Catherine’s Cricket Club.
After losing the toss and being sent out to bowl, we started a little sluggishly. Energy level seemed low and the home team set about building a large total. After reaching 1 for 116, Wanderers fought back taking the next 9 wickets for 49 runs. Henry Smyman taking 5 for 23 and Jordon Hudson taking 2 for 24 to do most of the damage.
In reply, we lost an early wicket but then Henry Snyman and Hugo Ikeda got together to put on 62 for the second wicket. Despite a solid platform and solid contributions from Max Sinclair and Ryan Irwin, we fell short in our chase.
A highly competitive game and some great efforts from all the boys.
