Barbados Part 2

Hi everyone and welcome to the next update of our tour blog from beautiful Barbados...

Monday  -Today we set sail on our catamaran tour. After a quick breakfast and a 7:45am pick up, we made our journey to the wharf. Our first stop on the tour was an opportunity to snorkel with some fish and turtles along the coastline. Many of the girls loved the opportunity to be so close to these beautiful creatures. Then it was back on the boat and a short ride to the reef and shipwreck a little further back along the coast. We moved on to a more secluded location to set up for lunch and a few diving competitions off the catamaran, but unfortunately some fish weren't too happy that we were in their territory and gave a couple of the girls a little nip. A group congo line followed by an energetic dance finished off what was one of the best experiences so far. We arrived back at the accommodation with some girls choosing to have an afternoon nap or a dip in the pool before the hotel's 'Manager's party' kicked off at 5:30pm. We were served some complimentary drinks and food before many of us headed over the road to enjoy an outstanding Chinese dinner! Tomorrow we look forward to our matches against the Barbados National team

Tuesday This morning, a number of the group made their way to Grantley Prescod Memorial Primary School to run some activities and visit the students in their classroom environment. To say that we had fun was an understatement! We felt like celebrities, with many of the girls being pampered after the games, with their own personal hairdressers. We gave them some gifts and hugs; the smiles were endless and it was truly one of the best experiences so far. Tonight two of our teams took on the National team. What a privilege it was to be on the court with such talent. They were all vying for positions in the final squad of 12 to travel to Australia for the Commonwealth Games in April this year. We produced competitive performances and allowed them to practice against the Australian style of play. Our other teams also played highly competitive matches, cementing many of the newly formed combinations across the court. Tomorrow we look to have our second school visit, followed by some more night matches.
